about me

Meet Ellie - my mini schnauzer rescue

I was born in Taipei, Taiwan, but grew up in the States. I graduated from the University of North Texas with a bachelor's degree in Merchandising and a minor in Digital Retailing, and later earned a UX Design and Research certification from Southern Methodist University. I also hold a clinical and human research certification which I received from Apple!

My career path has been anything but linear—I've worked in hospitality, event management, education, human resources, and fashion before finding my way to “tech”. It took some soul-searching to figure out what I truly wanted to do, but I'm so glad the journey led me here (and I'm glad you're here too!).

With over five years of UX experience, I specialize in research while maintaining hands-on design work to fuel my creativity. Currently, I'm deepening my healthcare UX expertise as a researcher on Apple's Human Physiology team, where I’m working on pretty cool things. I've also explored how AI can enhance clinical workflows through a Healthcare UX certification course.

My friends and family inspire much of what I do—their stories about the challenges they face have shaped my passion for creating solutions that genuinely make a difference in people's (or our pets’) lives.

Meet Lychee (AKA Chichi) - my chow chow rescue

Outside of work, I have soooo many different hobbies. But for now I’ll tell you about some of the things that I enjoy:

  • I have two dogs (a mini schnauzer that believes she’s a german shepherd and a chow chow that thinks she’s a cat) and two fish named Tupac and Biggie. (In the process of convincing my partner that we’d get a cat AND a turtle.)

  • I’m an auntie to 2 bunnies and 3 dogs. The holidays look and feel like a zoo.

  • I LOVE animals, if you haven’t noticed - can talk about them all day.

  • Love me some casual/cozy/motion gaming.

  • I spend some weekends working as a caregiver whenever I have free time 💝

What I found overtime that keeps me healthy is finding the right mix of empathy, curiosity, and a little joy—and when things get tough, I just keep swimming.
